I disagree with jumping into Proverbs as a new Christian, it takes a lot of contextual knowledge and discernment. It can produce legalism and an over active conscience. Start with the gospels and stories of people; Esther, the first chunk of Exodus (stop when they are finally out of Egypt), Jonah, Noah, etc. Then when you are comfortable with how the Bible reads you can start doing Bible studies with Proverbs, Psalms, lamentation, etc but you absolutely have to research context and know what it is you're reading. Ask your Who, What, When, Where, Why questions. Think about Romeo and Juliet "But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the East, and Juliet is the sun!" If you pick up that book and didn't know the book is poetry, and that Romeo is using colorful analogy you'd think Juliet is the literal sun, and then think how differently you'd read the rest of the book.

I wouldn't go less than 6ft with the pool. There is no such thing as "kid friendly" pools or water, or only takes a tablespoon of water to drown a baby. It's better imo to get a deeper pool that encourages underwater swimming and all of that and doing high quality swimming lessons for years. Where i live, water is everywhere. Swimming lessons start at age 4 (in school) and they go through grades 6, so 8 years of swimming lessons for a few weeks each year. Having strong, smart swimmers who know how to do life saving maneuvers for themselves AND OTHERS is important at every depth! 6ft allows for everyone to be as submerged as they would like and get to enjoy the fun of diving down and picking up singing pool toys etc.

My boys were always delayed in speech. They eventually talked but it did take a few years. By 3 they were talking a lot but mastered it by 5. One still has speech lessons but my oldest boy stopped speech when he was in 4th grade. So don't worry too much. He will get it!

I so enjoy watching you guys every week!! I live in Central Kentucky and my goal is to meet you guys and some of Carlin's family on my bucket list. I'm mostly in a wheelchair and I sing and recorded gospel music so yes I understand about getting in the spirit.
